| i have about $1200.00 to spend on my first handgun, mags ammo etc. i am lusting after the kimber warrior. is the warrior going to far for my first or should i stay with the tle 2 or somewhere in that area. how much should i spend on a warrior? i'm new to handguns and have shot a tle/rl 2 and loved it. is the warrior worth barely being able to afford ammo and mags and eating ramen noodles for a month? is the tle that much less and do i need such a great gun for my first? |

I don't know what a Warrior costs, but a TLE 2 without a rail is about $750 around my area. I say avoid the external extractor at all costs. If you must have a Kimber, the Warrior is a pretty good specimen, although I am not too fond of all of its features. For a first 1911 the Les Baer TR special, purchased used for around $1300, is hard to beat. |
| I've got about 500 rounds through my Kimber Warrior. I'd be the first to tell you to look elsewhere if a gun is problematic. Especially since I'm NOT a 1911 junkie. In those first 10 boxes of 230grain FMJ rounds, not one misfeed or hiccup. Thus far, as accurate as can be given my abilities, very well balanced, and very reliable. |

Kimber does not include fired shell casings with their pistols. i was under the impression that was one of the many criteria that MUST be met for a pistol to be sold in NY. though i might be wrong... anyhow, i like mine. just picked it up and shot it for the first time yesterday though, so i couldn't really give you an honest long-term opinion. i'd like it a lot more if i could find a holster. |
| I have the warrior and the MC operator. I like them both, but only one of them is on its way back to the factory---the operator shoots way low and is going in for new front post--warranty work. I have 1000s of rounds through the warrior--i've tossed to CMC mags that give it problems and replaced the recoil spring--no problems. i would recommend them to anyone looking at one |
I have a Warrior and love it. I only have about 300 rounds through it so far but it has been totally reliable - no issues whatsoever. I am also located in NY and had no problem purchasing it from my local Kimber Master Dealer. Kimbers are made in Yonkers, NY - I think they know about NY gun sale laws. If you decide on the Warrior you will not be disappointed.
