My first 1911. I picked up a Springfield PX9152L, the loaded Black Stainless target with adjustable night sights and beveled magwell.

I think they match nicely. That's a Darrel Ralph Madd Maxx. Maybe I'll put ivory grips on someday.

And to be snacktical, here's the gun with Mad Dog and Neil Blackwood knives.

need a light, comrade?

I love the feel of it compared to my old USP- much slimmer for my stubby fingers.
I haven't taken it shooting yet, but I will this week.

Nice, I remember speaking with our Kimber rep just after Springfield introduced this Model.

Man was he pissed.  No I mean really pissed first time I heard him curse.  First they copied the CDP model and now the Eclipse.

Personally I prefer Kimber 1911's and their smoothed edges as aposed to the sharper edges on most Springfield models.

I respect the Springfield product because they are a good gun but they lost a lot of my respect when they started putting the interanal trigger locks in their 1911's.

You got a nice gun there, I hope it works out for you.

Another Black Stainless fan!

A Black Stainless was my first "nice" 1911. The only real changes I've made are to swap the FLGR for a standard GI plug, 18.5lb recoil spring, and swap the thin grips for a standard size set. After a few hundred rounds of break-in it's been dead nuts reliable, and a better shooter than I usually am. Had to pay attention to keeping the extractor claw clean while it was new, but it's not touchy at all now.

I really really liked the black and stainless when I got it. It was flashy and subtle at the same time, I thought. I got tired of the two tone thing after a while though. Now mine is all stainless and polished up.

I love that 1911 of yours. Even though I cannot bring myself to buy a stainless, yours looks awesome.

I love the SS. I never thought I would  like stainless till I bought my first one. Now, I won't buy anything else.
