Anyone know the "going rate" for the various Nighthawk models, without any customizing? I ran across an Enforcer model for $1770, and a Talon for $1870. Of course, these prices are lower than what is advertised on the Nighthawk website. However, there seems to be a lack of Nighthawk pistols on the gunboards, so I can't really determine any decent pricing. Any help appreciated. |

Fellow ARFCOMer Frost18E said he saw one at a local shop, and was NOT impressed. He described it as sloppy. It could have been a fluke, but this was not too long ago, and it was a local shop. If you're in the Phoenix area, give him a quick IM, and maybe he can tell you where he saw it. I can't remember myself. I hope it is a fluke though. My neighbor called them today and got the royal treatment. They were really nice to him on the phone, and showed some serious professionalism and customer service. They have their own brand of trigger, and I'm certainly going to buy some when they get their parts section up and running. Anyway, sorry for digressing in your thread here. The only Nighthawks I've seen have been on GunsAmerica, where there are quite a few. Good luck! |

Thanks, Hobbs. The models I've handled have been very impressive. Extremely good slide to frame fit, good barrel lockup, consistent trigger release, etc. I've actually had work done by Wilson while these guys were there, and their current offerings are consistent with what I had done to my Colt. If you want to inspect one firsthand, give me a PM sometime. Anyway, the only two dealers in Phoenix metro are Scottsdale Gun Center, and Big Bore. Yeah, I know about both places, and their problems. Anyway, Gordon has always been decent with me, but I don't have him work on any of my guns either. So, I decided to pick up the Enforcer model he had on display. I also ordered a Talon model today off the net. Nighthawk has had some excellent customer feedback regarding service, so I'm not too concerned. Anyway, I figure this should keep me occupied until I order a TRS next month, and send out the remainder of my 1911's for customizing. |
It was at Big Bore up on Bell Rd. I maybe shouldn't have said "sloppy" but for what they are charging I would expect more. I'm Fickle though so don't take anything I have to say as gospel truth. I do remember that I wasn't impressed with the finish or the way the grip safety was blended, or should I say not blended, into the frame for that "tight" look. Opinions are like A-holes though..... |
