What do you think of them? It would be for my CCW Springer Micro compact. The Novak nite sights on it now are OK, however I would prefer something that trades some of the accuracy for speed as shooting past halitosis range is hard for a .CIV to justify. I was thinking about the XS24/7, but after reading that thread, they don't seem to be worth the coin. I've personally never tried Ghost Ring sights, are they quicker? I've always prefered .MIL peep sights over other types on my rifles. |

I've tried the ghost rings on 1911s and Glocks. I don't think they are significantly faster, but those who like the sights on ARs or have more experience with ARs than handguns love them. To me, they cover up too much of the target. I prefer the Novak Ghost sight, which is half of a ghost ring, with the top part of the ring eliminated. As far as the negative reviews on XS sights, they are quick, and the detriment to accuracy is not an issue for most under 25 yards. If you're in the Phoenix area, you can try them out if you like. I have a Kimbe rwhich has average accuracy, and I recently put on 24/7 non big dot sights. You can see how quick they are, and if you want to go shooting, you'll see the gun has more than adequate accuracy. Also, though I don't have a 1911 set up right now with ghost rings, I do have a Glock with them, and you can try that out too. |
