Was looking around for a 1911 style commander length perhaps in 9MM for carry and came across the Wilson Combat EDC X9. Anybody got one of these out there? Reviews are limited currently on YouTube, except one really good one. Looking for some real world opinions. Looks damn sexy.

My FFL bought one, but has not shot it yet he said.
Kind of reminds me of the Sig Legion series.

What is the going rate for a kidney anyway? I only need one of each (kidney and EDC X9).

Seriously, might be the last 9 I ever buy if I can find and afford one. I have read all that the internets can provide at this point and am damn impressed.

It would be a great $1500 pistol, but a $2800 pistol.

I'll go be poor somewhere else.

Funny thing is, it is less expensive than their base model 1911.
But, it is a production gun, I can't justify the cost. Still want.

I do not have one.

I do know a number of people who have trigger time on one.

They all report that it shoots fantastic. Very little muzzle flip, very easy to shoot well. And it really is the same size as a G19. They all seem to like the gun a great deal. Some of the people with larger hands wish it was a tad larger. Some have expressed a desire to have a narrower front sight.

But apart from that it has been universal praise.

I have a CQB in 9mm that I adore. I've been told I'd be tempted sell my CQB to buy one if I shot it. I have no reason to doubt that.

You can get some idea of how flat the gun shoots in this video:

Pretty much all of Wilson's guns are semi-custom guns, unless you get the super grade guns that cost 5-6 grand. (Which is in the range of what a real gunsmithed 1911 costs from someone like Heirloom Precision, etc.) Wilson manufactures all their metal parts in house (except maybe springs) and to their tolerances and QC. That helps with getting pieces to fit together nicely.

I don't see this pistol as really anything different. At the moment they aren't doing anything custom with them because the demand is so high that they are trying to build I believe in the range of 1,200-1,500 of them as quickly as possible and custom orders slows that down. I expect there to be custom options available in the future.

And probably a full-sized gun, too. Probably with a slightly higher mag capacity.
