Does anyone have recommendations for 1911 9mm magazines? just picked up a dan Wesson vbob in 9mm. I have plenty of 45ACP mags but I m lost when it comes to 9mm 1911's

I saw that brownells has some pretty decently priced ones and they have good reviews.

Wilson Combat makes some decent mags.

N/M, I didn't' see this was for 9mm (I've no experience with a 9mm 1911 pistol)

I have some Wilson ETMs and Tripp 10 rounders.   The Tripp mags will occasionally give me a nosedive out of the mag.  The Wilsons have worked better for me so far.

I have used 38 super mags, before the 10 round 9mm mags hit the market.

My 9mm likes SA and Kimber 9 rd 9 mm mags as well as Metalform 10 rd mags.

My STI will shoot Wilson, Springfield, or Metalform.

My Springfield likes Metalform best.

Buy 2 Wilson Combat and 2 Tripp mags. Try them both in the gun (extensively) and sell the brand that does not work best.

For my three 9mm 1911's, Tripp works best in all three.

Those in the link look just like the metalform 10 rounders I have as in probably exactly the same.  The metal forms work perfect for me. David

I'm using the Wilson ETM 500-9 10rd mags in my Ruger LW Commander 9mm 1911. They run just great and after 500 rds there has not been one failure from the mags!! Not cheap but NO problems, just what you need for a self defense gun!!!!

I use tripp and chip mccormick mags 10rd in  mine. When it was being built (local) the gunsmith said it ran fine with both but the chip mags seem to lock the slide back when empty better. I have only put 150-250 rounds through it, 90% supressed and the only failure of any kind was with a chip mag suppressed it failed to lock back empty. Now I have noticed if I load a tripp mag in it and chamber it then remove the mag to top it off the round right below the one that was just chamber will be pushed foward enough that when I remove the mag the round falls out. Only happens with the tripp mags and does not effect feeding aslong as I dont pull it out. I will probably only buy chip mags for it from now on.

I have been using Wilson 9mm 10 rd mags in my PM-9 and the Wilson 8 rd Officer 9mm Mags in my ECO 9mm, no issues.  Also, the Factory mags from DW 9 Rd for PM-9 and the factory ECO 9mm mags have also worked flawlessly.  I had a Springfield RO 9mm full size and their factory mags worked fine, too.

figure I would share my experiences with the Brownells 9mm magazines.

Went to the range with my brand new Dan Wesson VBOB and it ran those mags no problem not a single FTF or anything. Not bad for the price and they look solid also comes with a base pad too

I have had the welded baseplates pop off of a few Springfield magazines. I wont use them in matches anymore. Metalform makes a mag with the same body but it has a removable base pad. That's what I will be using from now on.

Going to add a magwell and a few other bells and whistles to this and then shop magazines.

They seem to be the Mac-Gar made magazines and are generally considered to be well made
and are original OEM for many factory pistols...most if not all are made in Italy.

You may want to get one or two to try them in your pistol...they have worked very well in the
full size 1911 9mm's that I have seen them in so far...Shop around for the best price.

Upon closer Inspection they are in fact made by Metalform and not Mec-Gar, although they
do in fact look nearly Identical...

Mec-Gar on the top and Brownells/Metalform on the bottom.

I got 5 of their 10rd 9mm mags when Brownells had them on sale.  All of them work 100%.  10/10, would bang.

I have 6 of them and one nose dives from a full mag from slide lock.  I'll call Brownells eventually and swap it out.
