I am looking to get my 1911 "melted" and then refinished.

Not sure of who is a known/trusted to do so?

Thanks ARFCOM

Or you could just send it out for an amateur to refinish and they can simply buff the shit out of it..... ....Im kidding!

A number of smiths have that policy.  When the short 1911s run they are great. When they don't, they can be very hard to get running right.    Someone could probably make a business specializing in short 1911s and make some $$.

What gun do you have op?

Sorry. The Clark melt jobs are just "Ugh!". To those that like them, more power to ya. My idea of work on the edges for carry is to barely break the edge with a SMALL file.

Well they do charge about 1500 for one.   I doubt there are any edges left other than the sights.
