What's the word on the SIG 1911? I haven't paid attention to 1911s in years but have the opportunity to pick one up.
Thanks |

I only own 1 SIG 1911, a 1911 Super Target Nitron, and it's been outstanding in accuracy, perfect in reliability right out of the box with almost 8,000 rounds through it, and very, very nice in fit and finish.
It rivals pistols I own that cost almost three times it's price. |

I currently have the TAC PAC full size and the C3 officer size. Both are tack drivers easy to carry. Due to the squared shaped slides, holsters can be an issue if the leather is saddle leather thick but leaving the gun in the holster over night solves the fit issue.
I like to use the mags they came with. The only mag issue was with wilson mags, for some reason they would not feed reliably in the sigs. Worked fine with my kimbers and spring fields. I also like to use the mecgar mags in all of my 1911's, 100% reliable. Currently saving for a nightmare. |

It is the only EE 1911 I would own. Kimber S&W NOPE but a Sig 1911 they actually got it right even though I kind of think it is ugly. Quoted:

Good guns for what they cost. I personally don't like an external extractor on a 1911 though. It is the only EE 1911 I would own. Kimber S&W NOPE but a Sig 1911 they actually got it right even though I kind of think it is ugly. You can get a "traditional" model without the sig lines. http://www.sigsauer.com/CatalogProductList/pistols-1911-traditional-models.aspx |

I owned 6 of them, and they were good to go.
I liked the traditional models best ( standard non boxy slide) and they fit regular 1911 holsters. Sold them since not much more and your in Dan Wesson price range. Plus I learned I visually did not like external extractors too |

I have friends that work at Sig, and the guns are fit/finished by guys that have a lot of experience on the 1911 platform that take pride in their work -- not just trained monkeys.
The MAX is fit/finished in house, then sent to Max Michel's gunsmith for further tuning -- they're legit. A Sig 1911 is on my list, for sure. |

I love my Nitron Carry, it's my EDC. for the fit, finish and options it is a very good deal.
My dislikes are not bad, just my opinion. I dont like the series 80 (or whatever Sig calles it) feel in the trigger, and my rear sight drifted on it's own this weekend, the magazines leave alot to be desired. Again minor gripes, but you asked for them. Would I buy another? Hell yes, in a heartbeat! I didn't find it hard at all to find IWB holsters, Crossbreed and Alien Gear both make them, I have one of each. |

My C3 has been so good one of my shooting buddies replaced his edc, full size custom (which he's carried since the 70s and his now just flat wore out) with one.
When new, ~300-400 rds of ball, it would not feed Gold Dots reliably. It would hang up one round out of about 20. I switched to HPX and it's been 100% since. |
