| Looking for another .45 compact/sub. I have a RIA which I love and shoots great. Just want to add to the stable, any thoughts on something $1000 or so? |

Colt Defender would be a good choice,my SIL has one and it's a nice pistol. http://www.topgunsupply.com/images/P/o7000d.jpg I second the Defender. It's a nice shooting pistol with little felt recoil to me. |

I have a Para Executive Carry with the 3" match grade barrel. Full size grip with a bobtail. It shoots great, eats everything I feed it, and have had no problems.
since Para is no longer around (now owned by the Remington Group), You should be able to pick one up for a song. I've seen all Para is on sale as they are trying to get the brand name off the market. I'm not sure how Remington is going to handle any warranty issues. Been hearing a lot of "no response from CS" when people post with problems. But like I said, I haven't had any problems with mine. I've shot the Springer RO, and the Kimber compacts. Both good guns, but for what the Para brand is selling for now, even if you don't like it you should be able to sell it to a buddy for what you paid. Just my .02. |

Pretty sure colt has the 3" gun figured out, anything under 5" can be more ammo sensitive. I have the RO C in 45, and it is a shooter. Quoted:

Range Officer Compact. None of the problems of a 3" gun. Pretty sure colt has the 3" gun figured out, anything under 5" can be more ammo sensitive. I have the RO C in 45, and it is a shooter. My SILs has only had one FTF in the 12yrs she has had it and that was due to a mag that had bent lips on it. |

Hard recoil if they have an alloy frame. Super short sight radius. Short recoil spring life. I had a New Agent I sold for a RO Compact. Quoted:

If you can, rent a sub compact 45 to try before you buy. They can be a handful. Some guys hate them, some love them. Hard recoil if they have an alloy frame. Super short sight radius. Short recoil spring life. I had a New Agent I sold for a RO Compact. The RO C is as small as I go in 45, and I have shot them all. It is not at all hard to conceal, and pretty comfortable all day long. |

| I have a Kimber CDP II Ultra that I really like. It's my daily carry and has put in rock solid performance ever since I changed out the magazines. People will tell you that they are unreliable. I believe there were some issues in the past with them but more recent builds seem to be as reliable (IMHO) as any other pistol. |
