Just got one (wanted  dw valor ) and it's nice but more like a good start. Anyone upgrade theirs? Thinking of getting new rear sight, maybe ed brown safty, and new bushing .

I like the sights on the WC guns... maybe have someone machine in a notch ala heine/wilson.
Aside from that:
-I'd definitely agree that it could stand for an ambi safety.
-Look into a dehorning job at the very least on the slide as most colts are sharp enough to shave with.
-A magwell (or if you're gonna use it as a CC gun, just a bevel job) is nice since most colts have very little beveling done from the factory.
-Refinish into something a little more than bluing (parkerizing if you're old-school/cheap, or one of the fancier treatments/coatings if you got $$$ to spend).

Personal preference stuff would be a different trigger if the one on the gun is too long for your finger and an extended mag release and/or grips with a cut-out to reach it easier.

I would change the grips, sights, trigger, thumb safety, slide release, barrel bushing, MSH, grip safety, add an extended mag release, add an magwell, break the sharp edges and refinish it. Outside of that, the pistol is near perfect out of the box.

Am I the only one that bought into the "Everything you need, nothing you don't" on this Model ???

Guess I've got nothing to contribute.

I will say that, 01deuce, your 1837WCB looks sweet, yet I'll keep my 2036WCB as is

Well 1837WCB could not be done until I had 2038WCB  to have one stock. Just my strange justification.

You were clear on what you would do. I'm not you. In all honesty only two this really needed done ( for me ) ambi-safety and extended ejector. Everything else was just a want over a need.

It was sarcasm. Buy a pistol that is "perfect out of the box" and change everything on it.

Thanks guys for the reply's .

For the "it's perfect out of the box crowd"
It's not really as I wanted a valor, but a few mods and much less $$$$ I can have something close.
The expensive stuff is done (new series 70 base gun and front strap checkering)

I'm buying this one as soon as I get my tax refund.

Has a Harrison complete ignition kit, retro hammer, extreme strut, C&S sear spring, Ed Brown thumb safety, reverse 45-degree flush cut barrel, and burlwood grips

I think it already has a ed brown gs.

I know Colt used ed brown on some of the models.
