Anyone have one of these and care to share your experience with it? Found out that Remington is running a $75 cash back rebate and the LGS is sweetening the deal a little more. |

Recently picked up an R1 Enhanced Threaded Barrel. I'm very happy with it. No function issues and it is very accurate. Fit and finish is very good. Not as good as some of my newer Colts or my TRP, but we are also talking about much more expensive guns. For the money, the R1 is an excellent 1911. Just wish they would tone down the billboards on the side.
ETA on the trigger. Mine breaks clean in the 4.5-5lb range with just a touch of take-up. Very good combat trigger. |

Grabagun has them for $549 plus $5.99 shipping: http://grabagun.com/rem-1911-45acp-5-7rd-blk-wlnt-2-mgs.html?source=igodigital If I didn't already have one I'd probably have to jump all over this. | I bought a used enhanced model back in 2012, have right at 1500 rounds fired with it. It has been reliable and its a good accurate shooter. No problems with it, trigger fit is loose but it is also my lightest trigger at under 4LB's. It's actually too lite for my tast but it's also not a carry gun. Finish has held up well but again not a lot of time in a holster. I think they are a decent low cost 1911, not really a fan of the series 80 but like I said no problems with mine, |

Every single one that Ive seen in person had rust on the barrel, similar to Kimber FWIW. Quoted:

Thanks all. Checked it out yesterday, but still undecided. Nothing wrong with it, just trying to decide on this or another option. Unfortunately I can't get both ![]() Colts have been going cheap at Bud's. I have two R1's. They have both been great guns. Always reliable. |
