Rock Island parts assembled on a Palmetto Armory frame.

I'm sure it will need some tuning, and there are several parts that I could fit better, but it went together with no problem whatsoever.

Can't shoot it yet.   I forgot to order the staking tool for the plunger tube.

The only part I didn't use from the RIA is the trigger.  Essentially a RIA Tactical assembled on a Palmetto frame.

I ordered this frame and all the other parts to build a suppressor host, but haven't had the time to fit/assemble it.

When I received the RIA parts from another Arfcom member, temptation overcame me........

Looks like the slide may be a little bit too far forward..

Yep, will have to see about correcting that.

May have to live with it for now.  Lock up on the lugs is good, so no way to really adjust it.

Could file/polish it to match the back of the slide, but if I ever fit another barrel, it could go the other way.

Unless there is something I am missing?

I believe the PSA slides and frames are heavy with extra material on the back contour. At least a good many of them.
This is a PSA slide I bought and tossed on to a Springer TRP frame just to see how it fit. Note, extractor is also recessed.

Drifter,

Thanks for the information.

I have several slides including a PSA.  I'll  swap them around and see if I find the same.

Looks great! Don't worry about the back of the slide/frame. It's cosmetic.

Three pistols, one target.

All fired offhand.  Most at 10-11 yards, but a few in each at varying distances to 25 yards.

Roughly checked group size with the first magazine in each pistol.  It was acceptable and I didn't bother to record the individual groups.

I knew the all stainless would print very low, as I installed a very tall front sight.  Aiming point for the SS was the upper blue dot, which had it impacting with the other tow.
Will file for POI, or leave it to use with the suppressor.

All shots except seven in each pistol (see below) are with my cast 200g SWC, WIN231, mixed brass and mixed primers.

At the end I fired one magazine of my carry ammo through each.  Winchester 'Personal Protection' 230gr JHP.   Hadn't shot those in a couple of  years.  A LOT snappier in the recoil department than my pussycat handloads!

So why did I picture the the third pistol and the magazine?   Failures to feed......

Started with duotone and the magazine.  Three FTF in the first magazine.
The the SS with the same magazine.   Two FTF in the first magazine.

They a few more magazines in each without any hiccups.   Then it happened again.  WTF?   :?

It was easy to identify the magazine as it is one that I use for IDPA and had a rubber baseplate glued to the bottom.  It has never been a problem in my IDPA/carry gun.   Since I had that gun on my belt, loaded up the magazine with the 200g SWCs and attempted to put them downrange.   Three FTF and a slide locked back with two rounds still in the mag.

Put that mag aside and put another 20-30 round through all three pistols.  Not a single FTF....   Not enough rounds to be definitive, but reassuring.

This target is not representative of accuracy for several reasons.
1) No attempt made for group size.

2) Most was rapid fire.

3) Three different guns.

4) For several magazines,  I was aiming then lifting my head to watch where the brass landed to check if extractors needed any tuning.
SS throws it a bit higher, but all landed as I like.  Between 3-5 o'clock, 3-8' distant.

5) I had different spring rates in all three pistols to see which had the best recovery from recoil.  (That was why so much rapid fire.)

One last detail.

Now cold blued, so you have to look closely to see it.   One of those details I have always liked, but never done.

And very easy to do.

There is a build thread in the Palmetto State Armory section of the industry forum specific to their 1911s. You should considering posting your builds there, with component lists etc if you think it will help others.
Palmetto 1911 Build
I can tell by the ejector on your stainless Palmetto build that the back contour definitely has some extra material on it, like my slide does.

I'll make a combined post and put it in the thread you linked.

I had put in the PSA build thread here:  http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_2_301/204461_PSA_Build_Pic_Thread__Post_your_PSA_builds_HERE_.html&page=41
