| I've been looking at picking up a Springfield TRP for a while. I'd like to get a railed 1911, but I don't really care for the bull barrel setup of the TRP operator. Would it be worth it to get one of their new LBO models and send it to SACS to get the frontstrap checkered and the trigger guard undercut done, instead of getting a non-railed TRP? Would I be losing much in quality over the TRP? The rail is not that important to me, just something that would be nice to have. |

Go with the Loaded Black Operator. I talked to one of the guys in their custom shop and during our conversation he told me there is no difference between the TRP and LBO quality wise. The only difference is the checkering and guide rod.
So, IMO go with the LBO, send it to their custom shop, and have what you want. Exactly what I plan on doing once I find a LBO. As to where to find a LBO, good luck. I've been looking for one for a month and haven't seen the first one. I'm not even sure if they have hit stores yet as they were just released in January. |

Quoted: I know of a shop locally that has at least one LBO, they're asking $1350 for it. They are nice pistols. That's a tad high for a LBO/Loaded Operator, buds stocks them at $1250, of course they are out of stock right now. The TRP should be a little nicer finished, but most people who have the MC/Loaded Ops have given high praises to the fit and finish. |

This shop tends to price things a little high, I generally only buy from them when they have something I want on sale. |

Get the Long Beach Operator. I've seen quite a few in person and they re great looking guns. I have a MC Operator and think you ll be more than happy with the fit and function of the LBO.
I have also seen plenty of TRP's and think they would be great looking pistols if they weren't blasted up with "TACTICAL" and "TRP". |

I have to admit, the large "TACTICAL" and "TRP" rollmarks are rather garish. |

The LBO has slightly less garish lettering. Quoted:

LBO is a cost-effective Pro. Doesn't that describe the TRP as well? The LBO has slightly less garish lettering. And it also has a rail and no front strap checkering. Granted I am not to well versed on springer .45's, but it seems to have more in common with the MC operator, except with a black frame and no pachy grips. |

Chase45 did a good thread doing a run down detailed comparison of his TRP and Professional. Pro is nicer in some regards, and the TRP is nicer in others. He's shot the crap out of both of them and they keep coming back for more like a crack addict to their dealer. IIRC the end consensus is both are very good and you can't go wrong with either. I expect much of the same can be said for the LBOs.
Though IDK if anyone can confirm or not, I was under the impression that the main difference (cosmetics and finishes aside) between the loaded lineup and the TRP was the amount of time spent fitting/finishing parts. I.E. Loadeds are slightly less refined compared to the TRP lineup which is subsequently less refined then the Professional. In essence time on the bench is the main difference in the finished product. |

That's worth quite a bit to me. What would the next $ threshold (and 1911) be for you? Quoted:

For whatever it's worth, I think the LB Operator is currently the best rail gun at the sub-$1500 price point. That's worth quite a bit to me. What would the next $ threshold (and 1911) be for you? Something like a Wilson Combat CQB or a Springfield Pro Model, both excellent guns and in the $2800-$3200 mark. |
