| Does anyone have experience with or an opinion of Ed Brown's Gen 4 coating? I have seen numerous reviews of the Gen 3 coating and cursory comments that the Gen 4 coating is ceramic based, but what about wear-resistance, etc. I really haven't seen much discussed about Gen 4. Would something like Hard Hat be better for a carry/shooter piece? |
| I haven't read anything really positive about the Gen 3. What I'm really wondering is whether Gen 4 is better, and how much better; or would someone wanting to order a custom Ed Brown be better getting stainless and then sending it elsewhere for coating. I have a stainless Ed Brown SF bobtail, and am wanting a custom full size but black. This is going to be my last handgun for a while, baby incoming shortly, and this would be a carry/shooter piece. |
