One of the best choices under 1K is a Springfield Armory Loaded or Range Officer. Hard to beat either one for the Money. Everything else in that price range has Cast Frames. SA uses Forged Frames and Slides. And for a couple of Hundred Dollars You can upgrade the MIM Parts to Tool Steel. Then You have a near Bullet Proof Gun that will last a Lifetime.

Two words. Champion. Operator. Look into this before before you sell yourself short. I've been a longtime fan of Colt, and my first 1911 was a Dan Wesson (pre-CZ). Still, the best value of all of my 1911 purchases can be described by those two little words. I never thought that I'd sing the praises of Springfield Armory. Still... They do give you more gun for the money. I'd look to them for what ever 1911 needs you may have. From entry level to full house custom... Springfield has you covered.

I actually had one, my first 1911.  That's where these clipazines are from

But I didn't love it.  I discovered that I prefer the 5".

It went to a good home, another Arfcommer, a Major (at the time of this posting)

That MC Operator is really growing on me.

So, from where would you order an SA MC Operator?

The source for the Champion just doesn't come to mind
