What is the consensus on the extended magazine release button on a combat pistol?

I see no problem with them so long as they don't easily get activated accidentally.

I have one on my daily carry and have had no problem with.
It's an Ed Brown,been there for 14 years now.

I use one that is only about 1/16 longer than stock same OD as stock.
