I have a Para SF-45-A with the ambi safety.  The problem that I am having with it is that when I disengage the safety on the right side (i.e left handed) it does not disengage the safety on the left side of the frame.  If I disengage the safety on the left side (i.e. right handed) it will disengage both sides of the safety.  I have two questions 1)Is there a better ambi safety than what came with the gun? 2)Can I switch to a normal safety lever without any issues?

Gun details: Para SF-45-A, double stack, 14 rd magazines.  And because a help thread is worthless without pics:

It was working before I assume?  What about engaging the safety?

Same.  Left side engages both, right side goes up but does not engage both sides.

Saftey only enguages on L/H Side (slide stop side).

I would pull the saftey and check the fit of the fork in the middle and Check R/h had for binding in grip area. I am thinking that your fork needs some GENTLE tension added to clamp down on the R/H part.

Other Option Purchase a Kings style (kimber and Wilson make copies) and have it fitted. IMHOP the Kings style is a better ambi design. This would need to be fitted.

bottom pick your saftey should not be sticking out like that on the L/H side. It shall sit flush against the frame.

Any aftermarket saftey you add will need to be fitted.  ambi or other.

Can I just push them together without disassembling the gun, or is this going to require a break-down

yes you can, but I am guessing it will just come apart again in a short amount of time.
