Hello was wondering if anyone knew what the frame markings meant on this 1911 frame?
FJA mark above trigger and P below mag release with a icon on trigger guard on other side there's a 2 on trigger guard and cai st albans VT on bottom of trigger guard? Fja is the inspector and cai is century arms, is what I came up with? At a lost on what other markings mean and did cai import frames?

| Yes, its an Ithaca M1911A1 frame. 'FJA' was also on Remington Rands since they both were in Atwood's district, but certain frame markings are the tell if you can't see the serial number. You don't usually find import marks on U.S. pistols. It means the pistol was given to another country which eventually sold it to a USA importer who brought it back in for public sale. |
