Well I am shopping for me a new gun for my birthday and I have narrowed it down to two.
Springfield Compact range officer and the Sig 1911 C3. Other than general looks I like both but can not decide which one to get. Of course the Arfcom answer of both would satisfy Christmas. Give me your thoughts. Both guns are with in fifty bucks of each other so no big difference. |

I bought a C3 last spring and love it. It's my second most accurate centerfire handgun. Most accurate is my 8" S&W .44 mag. It's scary accurate.
The C3 comes with a checkered alloy frame with a grip safety that features a very proud hump. There were times I'd have shift my grip on my Ruger SR1911because the grip safety wouldn't disengage. Not a problem with the Sig. On occasion the first round in a full magazine would nose dive into the feed ramp when I was shooting 230 gr Gold Dots. I switched to 230 gr Fed. HST and have not had that happen since. I'm loving it so much my Christmas present to myself this year will be a trip to Novak's for a set of night sites. I wear it in an Aliens Gear iwb tuck holster. It's a very comfortable holster and very reasonably priced. I saw their ad in the newest arf news letter and they have forum in the Industry section. |

Sigs are an exceptional value with items needed for ccw (I.e. Night sights, checkered front straps). Stainless slide makes cleaning a breeze. My traditional stainless compact is phenominally accurate. Sig gives you o-rings for the grip screws. Quality you don't see.
