| It beats 10MM, works better in 1911's, and if you buy the official Rowland.com conversion you can use both standard 45ACP and AR Super.Plus a totally radical compensator. My dad talked to me about buying a 1911 and after i talked to him, I decided on a Remington R1. Anyone using 460? |

LOL, cool screename. There must be a thread every week or so about this round, and I'm sure it's a beast, but unless your going to grizz country can't be more than a novelty.
Not to mention the cost of ammo if you don't reload and wear and tear on the frame and your hands and wrists. Hell, I have a G21 I may convert to 10mm, lot cheaper to do , cheaper to feed (reloader here) no abuse of gun or body. Just seems like a win-win to me, especially in the southern U.S. |

Yea; I have a Rowland. You better mount a very high power tac-light on that thing if you EVER shoot it at twilight. Once you shoot that thing near dark your vision is GONE. You will need that bright tac-light to see for your follow-up shot or to see anything for that matter. That comp has some flash.
Buffalo Bore makes some ammo with over 950 foot pounds of energy at the muzzle (low flash powder also). One more little thing. You better hope you never have to shoot that thing with out ear plugs (and muffs at indoor range) it is LOUD. Made people three stalls away put down their guns and walk out when I was test firing at indoor range. I welded a Dawson rail to an older Colt and mounted a Surefire X400. So if you ever have to face-off with a bear it is the thing to have. Just imagine walking out of the Colorado mountains (at night) with a large hunk of bear bait tied to your pack and slathered in Elk blood. Being a archery hunter I like to have something more than pointy sticks. I hear the Wolf 10% (more power) springs help it run better if you have feeding problems. |

Just seems like a win-win to me, especially in the southern U.S. Well, I'm in FL, so for big game i think the most we have is bears, But in my neck of the woods we have deer literally walking on our lawn, coyotes, not to mention the occasional tweaker that try really hard to to grab your wallet. My main plan is to reload for it of course, but for plinking just shooting off 45ACP and saving the 460 for self defense and hunting. |

It's a little much for regular carry. .45Super is my woods gun and it's more than enough with a 255grain lead hard cast at 1100+fps... I don't like a compensator or ported barrels on a handgun for the extra length and loudness factor. What is your use for this bad ass round, black bear??? I hope your into reloading... Pics or it didn't happen. |

I wouldn't do it. I'd just get a tough gun to shoot 45 Super--which you can put a wimpier spring in and shoot 45 ACP. The cost savings in ammo, gun, reloading, etc. are pretty significant. BTW, I have a 10mm SACS 1911, so I have experience with the dark path. I can shoot .45ACP+P out of my Springfield 1911 that's set up for .45Super... but I agree with you... |
Just in general self-defense, I live in a very urban part of Pensacola and i still see the occasional predator in the neighborhoods, and not the usual kind i see at Wal-Mart early in the morning wearing green skinny jeans and a leather jacket. I d love to give you pictures but my phone is messed up. So far i got about 10 deer caught in my yard or neighbors yard, tons of a birds, and coyotes and almost one bear. My finger was in the way
