... I own 6 1911s. Love them all. But my go to carry is a well tuned Para-Ordnance P14-45.
I'm proud of how worn she wears. You like hi cap 1911s?

I'm intrigued by a STI or SVI but otherwise a single stack purist.

... I have to ask why. Consider myself a purist too. But I've always had big hands. As infamously restated in Breaking Bad, "There's no replacement for displacement"

If I could get my hands on a 2011 I think I'd like it. I'm just too chickenshit to order one off gunbroker without holding it.

For competition only.  Too big to conceal or carry which is the point of handguns.
Mags are changeable for a reason.

How many rounds through your P14?

Wife has a Para PDA in 9mm and I'm a little suspicious of its durability...

I used to have a double stack Rock Island, and I hated how huge the grip on it was. I have big hands, but I still didn't like it. It wasn't that it was too big for me or anything, it just felt weird. It's just like with a Desert Eagle, I have no problem holding it, I just don't like how it feels.

I've got one double stack, an SF-45-A (P14) pistol from a deployment group buy. I rather hate it and can't hit shit with it, guess my mitts are just too small. If there wasn't some sentimental/collector appeal to it I'd sell it.

I got both before it was cool to get both
Had a colt commander and saw something at the LGS I had to have, 22 years ago, a P14 with 4 mags. That was the beginning, I never had the probs with paras that you always seem to read about.  After owning 4 para 45 and 40.
I could only imagine carrying concealed tho, my bony ass prefers a Single stack.

If you already have 6 1911s, I would try a double stack. I had several 1911s before I bought my STI Edge. I love the way the grip feels and it is not actually that much wider than a traditional 1911, it just feels blockier. Here is a link with pics to show how similar the grips are:

... actually for me, a single stack feels awkward in my palm these days

Most of mine are 2011s but I admit to owning a few Para-style.

Of the 3 1911s I own one is a dbl stack. Para Ord TAC 4 with the LDA trigger. Makes for a heavy carry with two spare mags.
Eta. I did have to tune the recoil spring and polish the feed ramp. It runs 100% now. Well over 2000 ends on it.

I have small hands and a 1911 feels better to me after I change to slim grips.  To me, slim grips were the best thing to happen to 1911s.

Pretty much same here. I need to buy a few more 1911s before I buy a 2011. But when I do, it will be an STI or SVI. I want one very good 2011.

In wide body 1911 style the sti/sv line is the best.
