Bout to possibly add a new 1911 to the stable since I sold my last one to fund some NFA stuff.

With it I sold my summer special II. So I'll be needing a new iwb holster.

I liked the SSII but at times reholstering was a chore one handed. I've got an old faithful I can order a 1911 shell for and might do that, but wanted some other sub $100 options.

Kydex, leather, both - let me hear your choices.

My Alien Gear isn't bad, but I really want to try a VM2.

If you like the SSII keep using it.

I tried one and could not for the life me get the holster on the belt, and in the pants at the same time.  It wanted to pull the belt about 1/2" above the waistline of the pants and the belt loops would not fit over any 1 1/2" belt I owned.  POS.

I figured it was made for Wal-Mart belts and slacks.  I wear Wilderness belts and jeans.

Crossbreed holsters work for me pretty well.

I tried a VM II and found the leather to be way too slippery.  It's polished and wants slide down your undershirt even with an unhealthy amount of belt tension.

I really like this, a Comp-tac Infidel.   I have one on order for my 4" 1911.    Easy on, won't move around and holds the gun secure.

Summer Special II is what I use for leather.  Kydex I make myself.   Basic design is canted forward with one wide belt loop at the rear that snaps over my belts, and a sweat shield between me and the slide.

Simliar to this:

I have found that if the Versa Max 2 is an option, it is generally the right answer for my carry needs of everything above 'pocket gun / mouse gun' size.

Last count, I own six VM2 holsters.

Hey Guys.....I mostly read here, but on this one I'll make a suggestion.

Very nice people, I have a few of their products. I have trained with them and they stand behind their product. Holsters are made by the bosses themselves.

Feel free to tell them milkmanjoe sent you. I do not get anything for that, I do it cause they are stand up people with prior Military lives.

I got myself a Don Hume H-715M . Suits my needs, and it is made of leather.
