Got mine about 2-3 weeks ago but didn't get to shoot it until today. I got it to replace my Glock 29 as my everyday carry piece.

I ran about 50rds thru it, had to drift the rear sight to the right to correct for POI @ 20 yards. I had no failures to feed, extract or eject but I was running FMJ. This gun has a non-ramped bbl, FWIW. Next time I hope to have some JHP to test before I use them for carry.

I used to have a SA Micro (3" bbl) & the difference between the two is noticeable, IMO. I give a nod towards the Commander sized S&W due to better accuracy (slight), extra rd (8 vs 7) & bobtail mainspring housing.

The S&W also comes with a Briley spherical bushing, which is a first for me to have. I'm not sure how much better these are over the std bushings, someone else will need to chime in on that.

The slide cuts to lighten the slide are also a nice touch. I didn't notice any more recoil with the lighter slide, FWIW.

Not my gun, pic is off the S&W site. But they're the same thing.

Congrats.

Can you take a shot of your non-ramped barrel?

I could, but it's just a standard old 1911 bbl, IMO. Nothing different about it from all the others, except for the Commander length of course.
