I have a chance to purchase a AO 10mm conversion kit for my 1911. He is asking $350. It is in excellent shape and is complete with two mags. Is this worth it?

I'd pass on that. AO isn't exactly a huge name in the 10mm world, and given the grade of some of the crap they have pinched off from their factory/rectum in the past, I would consider it unlikely that it'd be anything that worked well.

There really is no such thing as a 10mm conversion kit, sold as a unit, that I'm aware of. It's better to have a 10mm barrel and slide fit to your existing frame, if you just have to have a switch-caliber gun, and best of all to have a dedicated 10mm gun that is optimized for the caliber.
