Somewhat new to 1911 .... Springfield specific question
May sound silly but...
How do tell the difference between models?

[#1]
GI-discontinued, lowest price model, can tell because grips have U.S. on them, stainless or parkd
GI Parkerized

GI Stainless

Mil Spec-like GI but has angled serrations, lowered ejection port and Springfield crossed cannon grips, usually between $600-$700, stainless or parkd, 3 dot sights
Mil Spec Parkerized

Mil Spec Stainless

Range Officer-target rear sight with LPA cut, cross cannon grips, no front cocking serrations, parkerized, $700-$800

Loaded-stainless or parkd, novak sights, front cocking serrations, springfield cross cannon grips, $800-$900
Loaded Parkerized

Loaded Stainless

MC Operator-green frame, black slide and Pachmayr Grips, $1000-$1200

TRP-magwell, Tactical rollmark, TRP rollmark, front strap checkering, stainless or Armory Kote, $1300-$1600
TRP Armory Kote

TRP Stainless

TRP Operator-adjustable rear sight, bull barrel, rail, Armory Kote, $1500

Then you get into custom guns like the Professional which are around $2500.
I did not include any guns with barrels less than 5". Hope this helps.

ETA:  PICS. Some are from Gun Gallery, rest are from Google Images.

Thanks for the info and pics. I suspect what I have, is a modified mil-spec.
It has the GI / mil-spec hammer. (not the range officer hammer)
However the rear sight cut is a little different.
Not LPA cut, but definitely milled in the rear portion, to accommodate an adjustable rear sight (which it has).

here is the best example of the rear sight type

No problem. Could you post a picture? Your rear sight may have a Bomar cut.

Here it is.
I'm thinking Mil-spec with rear sight cut/mod
Otherwise, it has all the characteristics of a Mil-spec

Yep, looks like a Parkerized Milspec with different sights and Pachmayr Grips. Nice gun! I also like the Benelli, is that an M2?

Thanks for the pics and info. After comparing everything, II figured it was an enhanced Mil-spec.

M1S90 on the Benelli.
Has 3 gun set up
