Building on a Caspian frame, carbon steel.  Now, what slide?  I'd like to keep it to carbon steel as well (not sure yet if I want to patkerize or blue the thing when I'm done).  Numrich has some colt (or so they say) slides with what look like Novak sight cuts, Fusion brand (decent price for the options available), Caspian (have to order from them directly to not have the billboard on the side, with that comes a wait), then there's Nighthawk and Wilson slides from Brownells.

So, any Fusion fans?  Anyone get a "colt" slide from Numrich?

Not trying to go low-budget with the build, nor break the bank.  It'll be, ideally, range toy target pistol.  Thanks in advance.

I don't believe the Caspian slides Brownell's sells have the stampings.  The last few I ordered didn't, at any rate.   Might want to call to doublecheck.  STI slides from Brownell's is another possibility that isn't too expensive.

the caspian billboard dissapears with some 600 grit, a bit of cutting oil and some elbow grease.

i went with the caspian, and it is at the engravers right now.

Go with a Caspian billet and choose the sight cuts and the slide grooves YOU want (without the logos).

Caspian will build the slide to order. If you want it with no logo, they can do it. I think a bare slide has no logos, and a bald slide has no logos or cocking serrations.

I would go with a Caspian naked slide, vertical G.I. type cocking serrations, rear only, Novak front and rear dovetails.

When I got my frame from Caspian, I splurged a little and bought a Caspian slide to go with it. That way I was able to order the exact sight cuts and serrations I wanted.

True, I may have paid a little extra by ordering direct from them vs Brownells, but I got exactly what I wanted.

The other nice thing about ordering the frame & slide from them, was that I had them fit the two together for a slight fee. I think it was like $75 or so, but it is one less head-ache I had to worry about, and it came out phenomenal.

For what it's worth, I was quoted about 8 weeks for mine (slide & frame, fitted & shipped). I got it in about 6 weeks. When I ordered it, I called and spoke to them rather than filling out check-boxes on the site. They were very professional and they do really nice work.

If you still have the frame with them (as in they haven't shipped it yet), you may be able to call and order a slide and just have them fit it there. Up to you.
