How does the Magnum Research 1911 stack up against the others, at the price point?
About $750, which puts it in with the other no-bells-and-whistles competitors

here is a review.

as for price point, not sure what you mean.
750 should get you a used springfield loaded.
new range officer
possibly one of the new rugers.

630 will get you the sti spartan

and under 500 will get you the RIA tactical.

all have the same features. some have better barrels.

Thanks for the article

By 'price point' I mean the others costing similar, as you mentioned several so you got my drift.
I also like the Ruger... it wouldn't matter to some folks, but those are manufactured here in AZ.  That's a plus for me.

i have looked at both, if you want one made in arizona, get the ruger, if you want one that has all the finish work done, get the magnum research.

I think they share a lot of parts with Kimber.   For the money I believe they are equivalent to a similarly-priced Kimber.  Personally I find them ugly enough that I probably wouldn't bother with one.

If/when I get around to adding a 1911, it will either be the DE 1911 or the Rock Island 2011 Tactical.  Most reviews of the DE praise the build quality and trigger feel.

some reviews

still more

there are more but you get the picture....
