Wilson 47s
I have had long term durability problems with the 47Ds. I think their trying to cram too many bullets into that mag and the spring gets weak easy. The 47s on the other hand I have never had a problem with them. The 47Ds I now have sport Tripp followers and springs and they work great now. Although a few have stopped dropping free. I believe the feed lips have opened up slightly but they still function great. I just use those for training. But they have lasted over a decade of use |
| If you're buying a new Springfield, there will be a "loaded coupon" in the box: it offers some pretty significant discounts on various SA mags, with a generous limit on how many you may order. My SA mags work well in my TRP and RO as well as in all my other 1911s. Shipping was a little slow, but not more than about ten days. |

I personally just prefer Wilson 47s |

Get the Tripp Cobramags, they are the best, period. Later on, get a Harrison Design True Radius Sear and new hammer and your good to go.

I ordered a TRP and it will be here on Wednesday. Plan on getting some additional mags for it. What do you guys like for a TPR? I was thinking some of the black 8 round wilson combat. I heard that you get a discount coupon for springfield mags that come in the box. This true? I am assuming that the 7 round Tripp mags sit flush on the TRP? How about the 8 rounders? If I remember correctly it was $10 a mag for the 7 rounders. 10 mag limit. I got 10 of them and they are still running strong. Never had a problem with any of them. |

I've heard other say that they had a hard time w/Wilson 47D, but I never had a problem w/Wilson ETMs in mine, nor CMC or the factory. Those are all I ran through it. Wilsons would not fit in the Springfield I owned. They would not go in far enough to engage, due to the baseplate design and the Springfield magwell. I have used either Novaks or McCormicks for decades. |
