Bought a new Eagle 5.0.  Feeding dummies through for dry fire and manipulations, I noticed the slide is starting to peen at the slide catch where the two parts interface.  I haven't even fired the pistol on the range yet.

Is this normal for these guns? Seems to be a soft steel problem and one a $2000 handgun shouldn't have.

Why don't you call them up and ask Them? Maybe it's a problem, maybe not. Before going out on the web, shoot the damn thing ...if it works..? Don't try to fix it

It ain't s'posed to do that.

Dress it down with a stone or file, then shoot it to slide lock a couple hundred times (you don't have to start with a full mag) and see if it gets worse.

Same thing happened with my springfield ultra compact. Mine only got worse to the point that slide will no longer stay back. Shoot them an email. There is also nothing wrong with posting a question in an open and informative forum.

It isn't anything to worry about.   Most guns will do this at the slide stop notch.  Just lightly smooth away the burr and it will get to a point where it stops.
