I'm new to 1911's. Bought at sig Scorpion and really like the gun. Very accurate and has a great trigger, but It's plauged with stoppages. The most common problem is that on the second round and/or second to last round the action doesn't close all the way. Most of the time I can just push the slide the rest of the way forward and continue shooting, but sometimes the round is on such an angle that I have to drop the mag and and then open the action. I don't think its a mag problem because I have 3 sig factory mags and 3 wilson combat 47d's and I have the same problems with each. I was hoping this was just  a break in issue but I now have 550 rounds through the gun and I'm still having problems. Anybody had a similar problem? Any ideas on what the fix for this is? Thanks

Sounds kinda like a barrel link misfit.  Send it back to sig.

My Sig 1911 Ultra did the same thing until I got about 15-20 mags thru it, then it stopped.
But being that you have 550 thru it....I dunno.

I have a thread on the forum here about my Sig 1911 woes.  I think everyone got tired of me bitching about it, so I stopped the updates.

Call Sig, have them email you a RMA shipping label.  The gun will be gone for about two weeks total, including shipping time.  They will shoot it, and most likely will "perform" a throat and barrel polish job.  I doubt they will do anything else, and tell you the pistol fed their cheap Mexican ammo flawlessly.

I had the exact same issue, plus more.  The gun went to Sig twice, then after that didn't solve the problem they sent out shitty parts to have me self-install.

What I finally did to "fix" mine was a new 10-8 slide stop, new grip screws and an new mainspring housing.  The slide-stop helped with the slide lock backs.  My Failure To Return to Battery (FTRB) issues went away as the gun broke in.  I think the extractor was just real tight, and finally loosened up.  I'm at about 700 rounds and last range trip I was able to fire 120 rounds with zero issues.

I was at my LGS last week and saw he received some new Sig 1911's.  The slide-stops on the new Sig's looked different than the Sig 1911's he had for the past few months.  The new slide stops looked the same design, but the finish was very different  The blued guns had a very bright blued slide stop, and the stainless guns had a weird colored slide-stop.  The color almost looked like a FDE color under his store lighting.  Not sure why the change, and neither was he.  Maybe someone at Sig Sauer is aware of issues on older parts?
