Thanks for all the compliments folks, its a great pistol and me and my old man took it to the range and shot 50 rds yesterday. I had disassembled already and lubed up but the recoil spring was shot so we had a few FTF. has a new one now and it feeds rounds just fine so I guess that was the only problem. I have to say those little sights are a pain in the ass! but it will stay exactly like it is now forever, its just a range gun and will now be an heirloom to pass down.
One possible issue is when I shake the frame (disassembled, just the frame) there is a rattling inside. I held the grip safety in thinking that was it but it still rattles so something is loose inside that didnt effect the fire control group in terms of not firing. Is this something with my mainspring? Sear? I wasnt planning on totally tearing this gun down |

The older Colts were made to looser tolerances and the rattle is normal. (they were made that way so as not to jam up when dirty in combat). nah man, re-read what I said. When disassembled the frame has a rattle inside. The gun itself has a slide-to-frame fit as tight as TRPs and a Wilson iv shot and handled |
