| Any one running the Simonich Gunner Grip.if so how do you like them versus the VZ grips.I was looking at the Nighthawk Golfball grips but they discontinued the color I want. These seem to be the closest I have found so far. |

Thanks man,I'm looking for the coyote brown color,Nighthawk apparently quit making that color. So far the gunner grips are the closest thing I have been able to find.
Brownells is where I found the gunners and where I found out Nighthawk quit making the color I want. |

Brownells is where I found the gunners and where I found out Nighthawk quit making the color I want. The VZ Gunners are the original Simonich Gunners with the true golfball pattern. I'd get them before NightHawk or Brownells anyways. https://vzgrips.com/gun-grips/1911/simonich-gunner The Recons are just Gunners with a thumb scoop. I use them on my M9 as well as some of my 1911s. They're fantastic grips, very aggressive and grippy. They may not be best suited to a CCW application, but they're excellent for a sidearm. Call me a masochist (you wouldn't be the first ) - but I really love my SA Custom with 20 LPI front and backstrap checkering, and a pair of Gunners. Slap it in your hand, and it just "bites."
You do need to practice getting a good grip on the draw, though - because there's no re-adjusting once you're "locked in." ~Augee |

Thanks man, right now I check all options for what I want and will fit my needs.there are a lot more custom grips out there right now than there were the last time I was in the market shopping around for them.
The last time I bought new grips was back in 2000 so it has been awhile.

The Gunners are awesome. I loved them on my first Kimber, and I CC'd that all the time. Never had an issue. It does leave a neat pattern on your hand after you're done shooting though.
Also, I was going to email VZ about having the Nighthawk logo put on a set. I don't see why they wouldn't be able to accommodate that. |

Once you're clamped, that's it. See, the craters suck in the meat from your hand like a member of the FSA on a new entitlement. Your hand's locked in, forever.
I have the VZ Gunners FYI. Circumference wise, subjectively speaking here: I have the Aliens, Operator II's, and the Gunners. The Gunners feel as if they're in between Aliens and the OPs. It's a really nice size. |
