I just purchased my first 1911; a Sig Tacops and I have a question in regards to the amount of lateral play in the trigger. Since this platform is new to me I have not had the exposure to the multitude of different manufacture builds. Thus when I received the Tacops, one of the things I noticed is that there seems to me to be a significant amount of free play side to side in the trigger itself. The trigger works and is smooth and crisp, but is this normal in a 1911 or is this something that needs to be addressed by the manufacture? Again I do not have any access to other 1911 to compare to, other than returning to the fun store.

| My kimbers seem to be the best, springfield trps are good as well but colts tend to have a bit of slop like you are talking about. I am not sure if its the width of the trigger assembly or the channel depth cut in the frame, Ive never measured and compared the tollerances. its just annoying to some but they work. I would think you could open the rails on the trigger a very small amount to eliminate the problem but it doesnt bug me at all and I dont tinker with what works. someone else could give better advice on how to fix and Im sure they will. |
