Looking to get a 1911.  Here are two buys I could do but I am still looking also.  Which would you go for?

2 - Colt 1991a1 about the same age I believe (5-10 years since purchased new) with 200 rounds of ammo and a holster (unknown brand).  Both with minor wear at most and factory box/paper work. - $1400.00 (two guys I work with trying to sale at same time.)

1- Springfield TRP Operator NIB. - $1500.00

If you're one of those people who can work with a regular GI-pattern 1911, I'd be tempted to go the 2 Colt route.

But since I need a beavertail and like my guns built a bit on the tighter side, I'd probably just end up with the TRP.

I'd take the TRP no question.

A brand new 1991 series is only in the 800 range - so 1400 is way too much. Call me biased (I do not deny spring fields are good guns) but a classic American design needs to be made in America. As a result I won't own a Springfield ( made whole or in part in Brazil)

TRP for the win.  Pics requested when you get it.

He's saying he can get 2 Colts for the price of one TRP.

Yep.

Eh I'll probably end up with trp or something in that range.  I want something I can immediately start practicing with and soon after EDC.  Plus I think I would like to start with something nicer so I know what to work toward on a build.
