Can you put Novak sights on a G.I. slide? If so, can you give a run down on what needs to be done. Thanks in advance

Send it to Novak.... Send in slide

But someone else should be along soon to give some better advice.

I would suggest a Harrison retro or 10-8 NM rear if you don't want to mill the slide, or a Novak cut slide to allow a variety of sights such as Novak, 10-8, or Heinie.

It depends on the intended use. I have a Delta Elite that is going to be a range toy. I wanted to swap out the rear sight and was considering Novak's. I decided to go with the Harrison Retro, as it would allow me to use my factory crimped front sight, not have to mill & refinish the slide, and would give me the sight picture I wanted.

If the gun was going to be used for carry, or HD, then a set of night-sight Novaks might be a better idea.

Here's a ling to the Harrison I went with

+1 on sending it in to Novak

Sent my slide in to Novak from my GI Champion for a front serrated tritium and a plain serrated rear and i FREAKING love it.

1 week turn around and a great job done for a reasonable price

Yes it can be done ....
I have a 1991A1 that had GI type sights very low profile bump up front and small notch in the back .   I took my pistol to Parkersburg and actually dropped it off at Novaks .
I had slide dovetailed front and back , front sight is a higher profile blade with a gold dot , back is extreme duty adjustable all black sight .
Work took about 3 weeks turnaround for about $300 , picked it p and shot it once so far .

Could not be any happier this combo of front / rear is exactly what I'm looking for . The gold dot "24ct" is bright and catches your eye nicely , I prefer an all black rear sight.
Dovetails are sharp and they did a great job setting rear sight to match the lines on the rear of the slide . Top notch professional work -looks" factory custom"

Just received my Springfield GI back from Innovative Custom Guns.  EGW is a short drive away and no longer do custom work, so they referred me to him.  I cannot believe how much better this thing shoots after the new sights were installed, it's a totally new gun.  He also refinished the slide and got rid of the horrendous idiot mark.

The front sight looks tinier in the picture then it does in real life. Probably because the camera is focusing on the rear of the gun.

Harrison retro gi and Novak front night sight. I installed the rear sight and sent it to Novak for the front install and sight in.
