Possibly looking at puttuing a new set of sights on my Delta Elite.

Gun currently is wearing a set of 3-dot sights, staked in front and GI rear.

Intended use of gun is range-toy.

I really like the look of the Novak "no-snag" sights, as well as the Heine "ledge" style. I think that I would rather go with the Novaks over the Heine's due to the fact that that the Heine's would look a little too "new-school" and that I wont need the ledge to charge the gun in a self-deffense situation. I also like how the Novaks "flow" with the slide.

I was also possibly thinking a fiber optic front sight maybe, but I'm not sure how that would look.

What do you guys think I should do? And if I should swap to a Novak rear sight, who should I send the slide to for cutting the slide? I am also open to other suggestions too.

Thanks!

ETA: I'd rather not go with something like a Bo-Mar adjustable, just don't like the looks of them or the complexity. However, the Adjustable rear Novak sight is an option.

Send the slide to Novak and get it done right .

I like the Heinie sight that fits the Novak dovetail.

You get the advantage of having the most common aftermarket dovetail cut, along with what I feel is a better rear sight presentation.  You can send your gun in to Heinie's shop for sight installation.  I don't know if they'll cut the slide for a Novak cut or just a Heinie cut.

Or you could just send the slide to Novak and replace the rear later if you don't like it.

There are also other adjustable sight designs that fit the Novak fixed dovetail, like the Champion.

I don't care for Novak's own adjustable since he wants to make an extra cut in addition to the usual Novak cut, which means if you ever want to put another sight on the gun, it won't look right.   So you're pretty much stuck with Novak's adjustable forever, unless someone comes along later and makes one to replace it.

If you can find an Armand Swenson "SwenSight" you get an old school look... fixed sight with BoMar sight picture...fits in a standard dove tail... this one saw about 10years of hard USPSA/3 gun usage before retirement

I think I may go with a set of Heinie sights. Go with the "Slant-Pro" sight rear that Ken suggested, and a white-dot front.

Rear:

EDIT: I contacted Heinie regarding cutting my slide for the sights. They said they don't cut slides for the Novak sight cut. Looks like I will have to either go to Novak (not a big deal) or a third-party company.

After doing a little more searching, I came across this thread:

http://www.ar15.com/forums/t_5_49/113891_Rear_Sight_Comparison__Harrison_Retro_vs__10_8_NM.html

I really like the clean lines of the Harrison "Retro" rear sight, and love the fact that I wouldn't have to cut my Delta Elite up to fit a nicer rear sight. With this rear sight, I can use the current staked in front sight (which has a dot) and it will give me the sight picture I want. I can't believe I didn't find this earlier.

I have a Harrison rear sight on my carry gun, so I know their products are nice, and of high quality. Looks like I will be giving them a buzz.

Thanks again guys for all the help, but it looks like this one is solved
