I got a RIA Tactical 1911. I absolutely adore this pistol, being my first .45 i will never get rid of her. I would like to sink some money into the gun with some gunsmith work but i do not want normal things. I like front strap checkering but don't want 25 LPI. I've seen some ed brown chainlink and like it alright but what i have my heart set on is like a frag grenade. After looking at grips I found the VZ Frag's and was wondering has anybody used this style for checkering the front strap?
Anyone know a gunsmith that would do this? |

If you want different now why not stippling? How do you stipple a metal frame? Hammer and a punch...Most texture or sharpen the end of the punch to get the desired look. I don't like that idea at all. I really have my heart set on the Grenade thing. |
