Thanks guys!
I haven't got to shoot the TacOps yet either but I am looking forward to it. It's my first Sig of any flavor but after shooting my buddy's Scorpion I have no reason to believe that it'll be any less than stellar. I definitely prefer a long trigger and always thought I preferred the arched mainspring housing but after shooting the Loaded 9mm and handling the TacOps I might have to rethink that. The TacOps especially, with the undercut trigger gaurd, is REALLY comfortable and feels like an extension of my hand. My Dad bought the Series 70 back in '78 (when I was 7 years old). It was the first handgun I ever shot. He passed in '05 and I got it along with the Springfield Defender. A couple of days ago I happened to speak with a friend of my Dad's who also bought a Series 70 when my Dad bought his. It turns out that Dad originally bought it in .38 Super but after shooting his friends in .45ACP he exchanged it a couple days later without even shooting it. Dad had the MMC adjustable rear sight installed but with the original TINY front sight it's still tough to get a good sight picture. While I wouldn't call it a safe queen, I certainly don't shoot it as much as I should. Still want to add a .22, .38 Super and 10mm |

What is the deal with people not likening railed guns? I myself was always sort of ambivalent about rails, same with front slide serrations, especially on 1911's. One downside is holster options and with Sigs slide profile (except on traditional models) they're already somewhat limited. Not a big deal to me but it might factor into some peoples decision making process. |

What is the deal with people not likening railed guns? This is the way I see it: rails mean weapon lights, and weapon lights mean nightstand guns. I don't like being limited to a single stack capacity for a nightstand gun. I use 1911s for competition and for concealed carry. Usually a rail will put you over weight for competition and is nothing but a hindrance for CCW. Thus a railed 1911 is of no interest to me. I do like a light rail cut on a STI/SV doublestack, though, since the dust cover is already wide enough and it adds no extra material, meaning the holsters are the same. |

i didn't want to derail this thread. but here is how i feel about it. all my guns have a rail. i don't really seek out a rail but it doesn't bother me to have one. i don't shoot in competitions so i never looked t it that way. and all my guns must be able to be carry guns nightstand guns and good range guns. so i have always seen rails as an option that helps my guns out. As far as holster options i have found plenty for sig that im happy to have there "odd" slide shape.
OP those are some nice guns i will stop hijacking now |
