We went in the shop and it had just arrived & not even out of the box. I had read 2 great reviews on the R1 and told him to see if he liked it. It was love at first sight and he bought it right away. But he has to travel most of this month, and must hide it for a while from "She Who Must Be Obeyed". So guess who gets to keep it in my safe for him and test fire it, tried it today  .
It has a really nice grip, a great 1911 "feel", and an outstanding out of the box trigger. Accuracy with 230 850fps hardball was excellent, a real pleasure to shoot. Has a carry style rear sight that is adjustable. Front sight is excellent. Set him back about $900 including tax. About what I paid for my Kimber Target II. All in all the Remington R1 is an excellent 1911 and I highly recommend it. I may post more results if I get more time to test it out for him. |
