I picked up an SA EMP recently and have come to find that it doesn't like to ignite harder primers like Wolf and Rem/UMC. It will seemingly shoot Winchester products without issue and I ran another 150 WWB rounds through it yesterday trouble free.

I have a shipper in my email inbox to send it back to SA but I'm considering just feeding it WWB.

Has anyone sent an EMP back to SA for light primer strikes and had success?

I'd love to be able to shoot the cheaper stuff through it but I really like this pistol and could live with it being a finicky bitch.

Comments appreciated!

This is what you get for buying that 1911 wannabe, the CZ Gods are punishing you.....

Honestly I know little bout the EMP's, besides the cheep ammo is it running every thing else well? How has it done with good self defence loads?

I know a lot of CZ's for example don't run the allum case stuff worth a dam.

LOL!

It's run the 2 Winchester offerings fine, no issues other than 2 FTFs where the bullet hung up on the ramp.

I polished the ramp a bit with some Flitz and a Qtip after my first range session and it ran the 147 JHPs fine yesterday.

This is the 2nd post this week that I have read about light primer strike on a EMP.  Mine had that issue with both WWB and Federal ammo, sent it back to SA and it has been fine since.  Good luck.  Mine was sent back twice, for different issues.

WWB 115 grain FMJ and WWB 147 grain JHPs work fine.

Tula and Rem/UMC won't ignite reliably. I've had to strike some of the Tula rounds 3 times before they will fire.

It's wonderful to spot check my trigger control though.

Did they happen to explain what they did when you've sent it back?

They included an invoice that specify what was done, but that was about a year ago, so I can't remember.  I will have to dig it up later.

Mine will not work with Corbon +p.  it will fire the first round, but stripped a small piece of the primer and got the firing pin stuck.  But it works fine with hydroshok and gold dot.
