I just got my first 1911, a RIA non rail tactical, and was wondering what is a good 2nd mag to get for it. It only came with 1 ACT mag and I purchased a 2nd Kimber mag for it but am not sure there are better mags for it. From what I understand, a great magazine is a must have and I am wondering should i return the Kimber mag and buy a different one or will it work well?

Can't go wrong with Chip McCormick, Tripp, Wilson, Metalform and Checkmate.

Thanks everyone, I ordered my CMC power mags last night. Now to find some grips I like that won't break the bank

There's a group buy on Tripp mags going on over in Snipershide.  The 8 rd 45 acp mags are going for $29.00, you'll need to pay for shipping and insurance in addition.

OP, I've had zero malfs with Wilson 47s ever. Same goes for 7 round Mec-Gars which are priced very well.
