Is there a magic decoder ring to tell by the SN# the DOM of a gun? I am new to 1911's and have a Loaded that I bought new. I was just curious the month/year it was produced.

There is no markings under the right grip panel. There are #'s under the left, but it does not easily traslate into a DOM. I assumed there would be a date or a way of figuring out a DOM by using some markings on the gun, ala VIN #'s on a car.
It is not that important, just one of those curious things. |
