| Anyone on here own or shoot a Regent 1911? They are imported from Turkey by Umarex. They claim to make a bottom dollar 1911 that is "quality". Curious to their reliability and accuracy. |

Quoted:
The 1911s we were issues in the military were so loose you could use them as a castenet. Of course many had been through 3 or more major wars. Yea, mine got loose like it was in 3 wars after less then 400rds.
It dosn't seem to be getting any worse though and when racking in a round, it feeds like your racking no round at all. There is a scratch on each side of the slide where it rubs on the dust cover though. For $350 from CDNN, it makes a great beater 1911 or something to experiment on. ETA: I also wanted to mention that the grip part of the frame is also slightly wider front to back than normal. I've confirmed by comparing and measuring it to my other 1911s. If you've handled enough 1911s though, you can tell as soon as you wrap your hand around it. |

Okay, so it took a few weeks extra, but I got my Regent 1911 in. I am not a 1911 expert, but I am very pleased with the pistol so far. No blems in the finish, pieces all seem to fit together nicely. Can't wait to shoot it this weekend.
