so .. the wife has wanted a .22lr revolver for a while now .. i located one of the new LCRs in .22 locally we went and looked, and i hopped on it for her .. she didnt own a gun yet, and we both watned something to hit the range with on the cheap and i LOVE ruger revolvers.. she wont shoot much because of ammo cost when we go , problem solved now!
she comes back with, pick a 1911, ill pay half ... i almost couldnt believe it .. a 1911 is my dream.. .. so, i had my heart set on a SR1911 ... but hell cant find em ... and im wierd about FFL and ordering online .. i like brick and mortar stores .. so here is what i have available locally, al though i am trying to find more shops with options (i do LOVE these 3 btw).. i dont have to buy today, but i dont wanna order a Ruger and wait 6 months either .. id like to buy soon considering that I have been looking forward to this day for years .. all of these have features i like and want ... i will likely keep the gun dead factory stock .. it will be an ocasional shooter when i hit the range, and possibly a carry gun in time .. Remington R1 enhanced - barely got time to handle, seemed nice fit, etc Sig Traditional TTT - fit was excellent, 2 mags, like the sights, trigger probably felt the best of the 3 S&W SW1911 Model # 108282 - nice gun, fit was 95% of the others, lifetime warranty, dont like the grips (i know i can change but just saying) OR .. is there something readily accesible that i should be able to find over the course of the next few weeks locally without a ton of wait etc. .... obviously buying at brick and mortar im paying a little more, but i like that and so does the wife.. thanks guys .. |
| I have not personally shot any of those models, but all 3 have great reputations. I don't see you making a wrong choice. there will be minor differences in the way they feel in your hand, so I would say go and handle them as much as possible in the store, pick the one that fits in your hand best. If you can, go to your local shooting range, see if anyone owns these models and ask questions, most 1911 guys don't mind bragging about how great their gun is! |
