Hi guys
I recently bought a Chip McCormick Competition trigger and installed it into my Remington Rand. Now the funny thing is that it resets if I thumb cock the pistol but when I rack the slide it doesn't reset. After racking the slide I need to pull the trigger forward about 1mm and then it resets. Did I reasamble the gun incorrectly? Do I need another mainspring? All comments and/or tips are welcome. If all else fails I'll just go to the gun smith but would like to build up a bit of knowledge on the topic and not be all useless. Thanks. |

Thanks. low sear spring pressure on the disconnector leg, maybe trigger dragging ? tear it all apart but leave trigger in it. raise and lower the pistol frame to see if trigger slides back and forth on it's own. if it drags, polish the high spot til it doesn't. most of the time the bow(part that your finger rests on) will need to be slightly fitted in the slot. they're oversize so you can fit it so it doesn't move up, down or sideways. |

phideaux, you are a genius.
Measured the old trigger and it was a little higher but that didn't seem to fix the issue. Noticed the side of the trigger was scraping somewhere. So it was a little fatter than the old trigger. Shaved that down and now it works like a charm. Thank you so much. |
