I recently got to fondle a friends brand new stainless steel Colt Gunsite and it was love at first touch. I didn't get to shoot it though. Has anyone here gotten a chance to shoot one or even own one? I am thinking about selling a few things to buy one and want some feedback on them. |

I own one and it's my current carry gun. very accurate. Except it has a problem. It feed jams on the last round or second to last round out of the magazine only with hollowpoints. After trying a bunch of differant things to fix it, I threw in the towel and sent it back to colt. It's been 3 weeks and I haven't heard from them yet.

Not owning one, I've always been surprised that they weren't more popular - they've got most of the features of the XSE, but they're Series 70.
I'd love to get one if I had the scratch - a couple of mods and it would be an almost perfect pistol for me. I do still wish Colt would offer more parked guns, though. For a low cost - beat around finish, I still prefer it to this day over a lot of these super duper space age finishes. A parked GSP would be awesome! ~Augee |

..tried to post this earlier, not sure what happened.. i owned one of these pistols for about a year.
it's a nice pistol, but it did not fit my hand very well due to the flat mainspring housing, thin-line grips, and short trigger. I ended up with too much trigger finger. the grip screw busings are shorter than standard and are staked to the frame, so you are going bugger the frame removing the bushings. I could have changed all these parts out, but i think these specific parts are what make the GSP Colt a nice piece, so I sold it instead of altering. its a great pistol if you have small hands. If i was looking for one i would definitely go for the blued version. |
