I acquired a S&W 1911 in .45 in Stainless.

It just says SW1911 on the slide and frame. Is that just the basic model? How do I learn anything about what it is?

Post a pic if you can .PArtial serial number may help .Customer Service at S+W should be able to tell you if you give them the full serial number
