I was offered a Springfiled Armoroy TRP the other day for real cheap.  It was black with wood grips and it said TRP on the rear of the slide.  I don't know much about 1911s but when I came home and looked it up all I could find was $12-1300 pricetags.  I guess I have to go buy it.  It appeared to be in great shape cosmetically, I didn't break it down or anything but how bad could a pistol that looks brand new be?  Any thoughts or opinions would really help right now fellas.

Thanks!

It looked just like this one

My thoughts.

Where is it?

Um, yes please.

A buddy has one. It's the finest 1911 I've ever fired. If I owned a 1911, the TRP would be it. He paid $1250 for his in used/like new condition.

It is brand new correct?  I just want to be sure. That is a very good price if it is new.  Are you going to be able to see it/have it in your hands before you buy it??

No he said it had been fired very little which I would believe by the looks of it.  Yes, I held it the other day.

I came very close to buying a TRP today for $1399 out the door. I had exactly $1400 in my pocket. I just couldn't part with the whole wad and I ended up buying the Sig TacOps 1911. I would jump all over a slightly used TRP for a good price.

Ahh yes, the SA TRP.  My very first 1911 in the good ol .45 ACP.  Accurate, reliable, never disappoints me when doing target practice.  It has became my CCW piece until my Les Baer took over.

That is a very good piece for that price.  Go for it!

OP, it is worth begging the wifey for. I bought a new "Loaded" model in March. It came with a match target barrel, bushing, and a 4.5 pound trigger. I don't know how I lucked into that as it's not the norm for a Loaded model. The TRP is more refined even with more extras than my improved Loaded. Jump on that TRP!
