This might be a dumb question but does Bushmaster make a 1911? I have a friend who went to a local gun shop the other week and swear he saw a "Colt 1911 for $350". I began to question him and he swore that's what he saw, pretty much telling him to confirm it, because well...Colt's don't go anywhere near $350.
Well he went back earlier today and now says it's a Bushmaster...I don't think I have ever heard of that in my life, but may be wrong, so I came here to confirm, and will try and show his gun-stupid self this thread. (Will declare myself gun-stupid if I'm wrong lol) |

Yeah I addressed and asked everything I could think of, was it in .22? Was it in extremely bad condition? Was it really a Colt? Is it a 1911? He originally said it was a legit 1911 colt .45.
But now he says it's a Bushmaster .45 ACP...and says it definitely is. Gotta love these types of people! If I could visit the store I would, but he lives in VA, maybe I'll ask him for the phone number tomorrow and call them. |

He might have seen a "Colt 1911" for $350....BUT it was most likely an Umarex licensed Colt 1911 in .22lr Or maybe a Colt slide on an Essex or Foster frame, built by Bubba from God knows what parts. I wouldn't be averse to owning one of those but I'd have to look it over thoroughly beforehand, and I wouldn't want to pay over $350 for it. |
