| I'd like to change out my grip safeties on two of my 1911s to something easier to depress. Is this something i can do or would it be better to have someone do it? |

Depends on what you have installed now, and just how good are you with hand tools. You may beable to adjust your curent gs so it goes off with less movement. It's just the flat grip safety that came from the factory. My problem is if it offer to be fitted. If it will drop in then i'm sure i could do it. I just need them to protrude more. |

if your frame does not have the cut for a bevertail grips saftey with memory bump, you are going to have to remove material off of your frame to fit the parts. Jigs are sold to help with this, but finial fitting is usally needed.
For me the work is easy, for others it is best to send the gun out. |

Wilson makes a drop in beaver tail with bump that I know will drop in on Colt 1911s,paraordnance,Auto Ordnance and Springfield GI type 1911s as those are the only models ive done them on.The spring can be bent a bit for lighter resistance. The Wilson Combat drop-in beavertail is simple to install by yourself. Depending on your 1911, you may also need a new hammer to fit with the grip safety (found out the hard way with my SA1911). I pulled up a youtube video of how to dissassemble and reassemble the receiver and was done fairly quickly. |
